Depth was variable but averaged around 3' settled snow. We were hunting for the buried surface hoar that was buried on 11.20. The interface is easy to pick out and surface hoar was found but was not reactive at all. Our layer of concern was the facets at the base of the snowpack. Pole probing all along the route went from softish snow to stiffer snow then and dropped in the facets. We dug 6 pits total. The facets were most reactive at 2300': ECTP 7, ECTP 12 and CTs were failing on isolation or with placing shovel on the block. 2900':CT 14, CT 16 ECT 17, ECTX. 3200': CT 11, CT 20. Sunburst is a bit tricky finding spots that were not previously skied which we tried to do with our 3 locations. There is definitely a slab over a weak layer that could be an issue for a while.
