Weather & Snow Characteristics
Please provide details to help us determine the weather and snowpack during the time this observation took place.
Weather

Generally broken skies, temps at 3200 were -2 C, winds were 10-15 out of the NW, some snow transport along higher ridges observed.

Snow surface

Above 2000 feet we found wind-effected new snow. There was less slab than anticipated.

Snowpack

We dug a pit at 2000 feet on a westerly, wind loaded feature near ridgeline. Structure was good (interface containing stellar crystals approx 20 cm down). Tests revealed med strength and low energy in the upper snowpack.
