Side hilling on the snow machines and triggered an avy that was probably about 65 yards wide and about 6 to 7 feet deep

The snow blocks were very large.

Forecaster Comments

1st rider triggered persistent slab while side hilling. It broke approx 100 ft above him. Rider #2 was below and was able to ride off the debris and get out of the way. 1st person got off of the slab to the side . No one was caught or carried.

FYI, in general the height of snow on the Willow side is 80 cm = <3 ft and Hatcher Pass side ranges from 80-150cm = 3 to 5 feet
