Precipitation continues with rain changing to all snow later in the day. Avalanches were observed today across the area ranging from new glide avalanches/full depth to the ground and wet snow avalanches that appear to be mostly surface layer. (D-2). Precipitation ranged from 0.2″ water at Summit Lake past 24 hours and a total of 4″ water equivalent for the past 7 days with higher amounts towards Seward. Precipitation in Seward area Mile 12 (Grouse Creek Divide) past 24 hours 2.3″ of rain with 4″ of new snow late in the day and past 7 days total there 13+” rain. See pictures for avalanche activity.
