Pit profile at 2100 ft on eastern aspect 32 degree slope
Observation: Summit
Location: Summit Lake -- Colorado Bench
Weather: Warm (0 C), light winds, mostly cloudy/obscured with periods of moderate
snowfall (up to S2).
Signs of Instability:
no recent avalanches observed below 3000′ ceiling. no collapsing/cracking or
whoomphing on similar slopes. Did not venture above 30 degrees or 2100′
Skiing conditions: punchy snow with 8-10″ of med-density powder on top.
Difficult trailbreaking, but decent skiing on the down.
