Toured up to 1900′ on the Northeast shoulder of the “Birch Trees Run” or “Japan Trees” run with the AAS Pro 1 class to dig snow pits and observe snowpack. On the tour up we observed 1 collapse around 1500′ on the skin track.
We dug pits on an East facing meadow at 1950′ with variable results

2 major layers of concern at Dec 1 crust with facets above layer, and basal facets at base of snowpack.

Snowpack findings: Poor structure overall in snowpack, low strength, and moderate propagation.
