Avalanche Details

Saw this crown on our ride out in lower Skookum drainage on a W aspect. Looks like there might be multiple release zones on steep rolls in the same path. The only other debris was along steep ridgelines and did not have nearly as wide of propagation.

Weather & Snow Characteristics
Please provide details to help us determine the weather and snowpack during the time this observation took place.
Weather

Cloud cover was broken with sun shining through in some areas. Light winds and temperatures in the upper 20s to 30s. Some snow flurries but mostly the snowfall had tapered off by daylight.

Snow surface

We woke up to 8-10" of new snow at 2000'. As we descended to Spencer Lake the surface snow got wetter and the total new snow depth deceased to just a few inches at the lake elevation.

Snowpack

We just skinned up to the cabin and skied back down the same slope and did not dig any pits along the way. Hand pits on the way up showed a homogeneous and right side up upper snowpack.
