Weather & Snow Characteristics
Please provide details to help us determine the weather and snowpack during the time this observation took place.
Weather

Calm to light northerly wind. Temps in the single digits in the morning rising to mid 30's in the afternoon.

Snow surface

A stout, supportable melt-freeze crust is making for exceptional travel conditions for fat bikers. The crust disappears around 2100'. Above 2100' the surface is extremely variable and wind effected.

Snowpack

No formal pits dug. Upper two feet of snow at 2300' on Skookum Glacier appeared to be extremely dense, wind packed snow.
