Hasty handpit: Concerning structure at 5,000 ft.

Location: Souvenir Peak (outside forecast zone)
Attempted Souvenir Peak via W face. At around 4,300 ft W aspect 18 deg angle dug pit, pic attached. ECTX, right side up snowpack, HS 250cm. Around 5,000 ft. on 37 deg slope, we found change in snowpack: Denser 1F to P snow on top of advanced 4F to 1F facets, 2-3mm with some facet chains seen as well. Big, loose, sugary, some striated grains, did not easily snowball with itself. Turned around because of the concerning structure.
