Pit near Ingram Creek.
Observation: Turnagain
Location: Southern Crossing of Ingram Creek on Iditarod Trai
Toured out from Tincan trailhead at mile 69 along the flats to the Iditarod
Trail and dropped down to Ingram Creek. Slight fresh snow on icy crust to about
1500 feet then powder.
Dug a 130 cm pit from top of snow to ground near the Ingram Creek Iditarod Trail
crossing. Bottom faceted, there are two 10 to 15 cm thick ice layers halfway
down the snow pack. One on top of each other with facet layer between.
Temp in the high teens all day, no wind, cloudy sky.
