Skied a sw facing slope just east along the ridge behind north bowl in the south fork eagle river area. Slab was framed on each side by typical front range thin snow on rock and tundra. The slab that we skied was more filled in and consisted of newer storm snow over stiffer wind board that was all sitting on ground facets. No measurements were taken and my observations are only based on pole probing as I was the first to ski down and the 2nd skier triggered slide. Several tracks already on the slope that slid. Slide ran approximately 200 yards in distance, crown, roughly 2ft deep and maybe 40 yards across. I would estimate the slope to be between 30 and 35 degrees.
Skied a similar aspect on 2 bowls several days earlier and did not find this windboard layer over facets. Saw similar layers on the skin out on a different aspect
