Skinning and booting up to Rusty’s ridge after skiing the south aspect of Wolverine peak. Light density new snow on a mix of breakable and supportable crust with old, weak, faceted snow underneath. Encountered some whumphing and shooting cracks prior to remote triggering slab.

Remote triggered this slab while booting/skinning up a rocky buttress lookers right of the gulley that avalanched. We avoided the gulley due to shooting cracks and whumphing encountered on lower angle terrain below. I was the third in a party of 3 to pass the trigger point but took a path slightly closer to the loaded gulley.
