Avalanche Details

Touring across Eddie's Ridge towards the SE, observed two independent remote triggered (from skier on ridge) soft slab releases on the SW aspect. Point released ~ 15'+ down slope of ridge with small to medium propagation. Suspect wind loading, storm snow and possible thermal affected (avalanche occurred at ~3pm, after a full day in the sun) snow failing on uppermost BSH. Crown thickness up to 2 feet. Slab dissipated into loose sluff very quickly but traveled ~3/4 of the slope. Slope was not skied.

Snowpack

Small shooting cracks seen off skin track at ~2400' SW aspect, pit revealed loose storm snow failing on BSH, poor shear, with minimal propagation or consolidation, followed by further failure of older, more consolidated snow on deeper weak layer with clean shear.
