Route & General Observations

Route in to Snowbird was mostly skinnable on 10/31. Big wind event night of 11/1 into 11/2 redistributed new snow from the week before. Prominent north wind. Alternately buried the route in new wind slabs or scoured it away.

Reactive wind slabs up to 6” thick on top of non cohesive snow on south aspects.

5-10 degrees F. Clear skies.

Surface hoar on top of previous week’s new snow. Hoar knocked over and lots of wind transportation.
