Observation: Hatcher Pass

Hiked up to Snowbird Glacier in the AM on 9/22…sunny! Minimal snow on the approach and didn’t switch to ski boots until almost to the glacier. On upper glacier creek approach found significant wind affect…wind slabs/sastrugi however most of glacier was unaffected with the exception of the very upper portion. Skied at least a foot of fresh powder…did not hit any rocks. Enjoyed two fun laps and made our way down during increasingly overcast skied in the late afternoon. Winter is here…hopefully the winds stay away!!
