Weather & Snow Characteristics
Please provide details to help us determine the weather and snowpack during the time this observation took place.
Weather

Overcast, low visibility ceiling, 10F, clam winds, low to moderate snowfall

Snow surface

1-2 inches light fresh

Snowpack

Hand pit show 1-2 inches fresh over a 1-2 inch stubborn wind slab. Then 2-3 inches soft unconsdolidated snow on top of a very stout 3-inch rain crust. Discussed this on the way up, agreed that if the wind slab broke, then the 2-3 inches below would likely cause miminal harm. Slope was not very steep, also agreed that steeper runs should probably be avoided for the day.
