Location: Silvertip, twintip
This D3 avalanche looks deceivingly small from the road. On
closer investigation it has crown depths estimated at 8-10 feet.
Vertical drop was over 3000 feet. Some broken trees found in the
path were verified at 25-30 years old. This avalanche was a
product of the recent wind events, starting with wind slab and
stepping down into deep layers above and below the Nov. 22 rain
crust. HS-N-O/G-D3-R3 Avalanche happened sometime during the
wind storm on 2-25 or 2-26.
