Route & General Observations

While booting up the NW side of the final ridge of Silvertip our group
experienced a whoomping collapse and shooting cracks before remotely triggered a
wind slab on the opposite NE facing slope 10′ away. Approximately 12+” crown
face 30 yards wide and ran 100 yards down slope. Happily all were on the NW
aspect of the ridge. A shooting crack on the NW aspect as well encouraged half
of the group to call it a day and forgo the summit.
