During my commute from Soldotna to Anchorage late Wednesday afternoon, the lowest air temperature encountered at road level was 40F near Turnagain Pass. Temperatures were as high as 46F near Cooper Landing. There were plenty of “skid marks” (glide avalanches) indicating quite recent slumps on slopes from Summit Lake through Turnagain Pass. There were a few chutes that had significant soil-colored and rock debris mixed with snow/ice chunks. Photos below.
