Route & General Observations

We toured out to the weather station for some much needed rime management. Still no signs of wind transport in the area, with around a foot of soft snow on the surface. We saw an amazingly consistent layer of surface hoar covering everything from the creek to ridgetop.

Weather & Snow Characteristics
Please provide details to help us determine the weather and snowpack during the time this observation took place.
Weather

Cold down in the parking lot this morning- 1 degree F! Actually quite pleasant above the valley cloud with no wind.

Snow surface

About a foot of soft snow on the surface, with a fresh layer of surface hoar everywhere.

Snowpack

Soft snow did not seem as touchy today as it was yesterday, with smaller sluffs and no soft slab activity. We stopped for quick hand pits on E, W, and NW aspects from 2000' to 2600'. The 11/10 layer of surface hoar is becoming harder to find, but it is still there- especially above about 2300'.
