Route & General Observations

Toured up moto uptrack for last day of non moto solitude. Noticed wind wind effect on the surface around 1800’ Turned around at 2300’ when wind effect looked to have taken the fun out of powder skiing. Looking above to mellow alpine terrain near top of uptrack showed areas that were wind scoured as well as obvious loaded zones.

Weather

Beautiful day, scattered clouds, calm winds, increasing cloud cover to broken skies by 330.

Snow surface

Soft and creamy new snow approximately 20cm ski pen at parking lot, near 2300’ few anti tracks and obvious wind distributed pockets. Ski pen reduced to 3cm at 2300’.

Snowpack

Dug one pit at 2300 on a SSE aspect, 22 degree slope.
HS=140 cm( area ranged from 85-165cm)
CT 20- 35 cm down Q3 (new/old interface)
CT 27-135cm down Q2 on basal facets (below the crust)
