The snowpack is becoming wet, saturated, rotten and beginning to shed.
Especially at the middle elevations and in locations where the pack is thinner.
– We saw a natural wet loose avalanche today on Twin Peaks than ran full path
and entrained a moderate amount of snow. Later in the day additional wet
activity was seen on south, east and west aspects in the Turnagain Pass area.
– Small slabs are starting to pop out as wet loose avalanches are overrunning
them (see picture below).
– Three new glide avalanches released during the day today on Seattle Ridge. One
just above the up-track and the others north and south of the up-track.
Most wet activity is on E,S and W aspects but northerlies are beginning to join
in below ~3000′.
