Route & General Observations

10:30 Skin from Tincan Parking Lot to Seattle Ridge DOT Lot
Ascended through Sunnyside Skintrack breaking trail towards Treeline (2,000ft+)
Intentions were to conduct multiple snowpack tests within treeline and assess previous storm snow, current rain line and find SBSH/CBSH layer.
Conducted pits and skied from 2,330ft back to highway.

Multiple Natural Wet, loose releases on E facing uptrack, 1,500 ft on 30° Slope
Skier Triggered Wet, loose slabs that progressed into large, dense roller balls (2,000ft)

Snow surface

1,000ftP: 30-50cm of cohesive moist-wet layer (recent rain penetration).
1,700ft+: firm, supportable top layer-HS100cm
2,240ft.: Northerly creating wind slabs of up to 100cm within meters of severely wind scoured ridges/convexes.
