Route & General Observations

Very large avalanche on the eastern aspect of Seattle ridge. Debris is about
600-700 feet wide. Unknown if anybody caught. Hasty surface search performed without beacons as the
area was too large to safely search. The slide covered the snow machine up trail with snow possibly up to
30 feet or more in spots. Contacted several groups of sledders and accounted for all vehicles but two in
the parking lot. AST contacted concerning the remaining two vehicles. During the day there was no
audible whomping or other signs of instability although visibility was very poor and snow throughout the
day.
