Route & General Observations

This was from a pit during a tour up Seattle
Ridge on Friday November 21, 2008. The darker colored slab on
top is denser “1Finger” snow. The lighter colored layer
underneath that slab is less dense “Fist” snow and is a weak
layer. There is now about 1.5 feet of new snow on top of the
upper slab. I found some near-surface facets near the bottom of
that weak layer and it failed easily and clean on a compression
test(CTE7Q2@30cm).
