Route & General Observations

The snow was hard as a glacier. Surface hoar from the bottom up to the top. Uptrail was icy. Pretty foggy from parking lot until about 1500ft elevation. Bluebird on top.

Weather

No new snow. Calm wind. 11°F in parkin lot and about 23°F on top.

Snow surface

Surface hoar on top of crust. Settled powder underneath. The crust was both melt-freeze and wind blow. Pretty crunchy.

Snowpack

CT and ECT tests showed that between 2” and 2’ there was faulty stability, otherwise everything below that was firm and packed.
