Route & General Observations

Rode up to clear off the Seattle Ridge weather station. The station was very rimed over and the anemometer (wind sensor) was broken, so no wind data till we get another installed. Great soft snow and no signs of instability except for cornice falls.

We did hear of a cornice fall in warmup bowl (-1 Bowl) with limited information. See photo.

Weather

Mostly sunny skies with some mid/low level clouds.
Temps 14F in parking lot, mid 20's along ridgetops
Winds were light and variable

Snow surface

Soft settled powder snow. Snowmachine pen 6-8", boot pen 20".
Wind effect and rime crusted areas along Seattle Ridge proper.

Snowpack

No formal stability tests. One pit that showed a 4' right-side up snowpack on top of a crust/facet combo, no signs of reaction in shovel shear tests on the facet/crust combination.
