Route & General Observations

Quick ride along Seattle Ridge to get a look around – found large cornice falls and deep slab avalanches that released during the 1/15-17 storm on the South side of ridge at elevations above 2,500′.

Mostly sunny, temps in the teens and calm winds

Snow surface

1cm surface hoar sitting on developing near surface facets at all elevations above 1,500'

Snowpack

We dug one pit at 2,900. Snow depth 170cm.
We had no results, ECTX. We tested the New Year's buried surface hoar but dig past this.
