Rode in the Seattle Creek drainage to take a look at any surface instabilities as well as one pit to look at the deeper pack.

We found two cornice falls. One in Warm up bowl, Southerly facing, later in the day triggered by a person on the ridge. This was relatively small and only initiated sluffing below. The other was on the west face of Pyramid Pk - this one may have been a natural from late in the storm on Jan 27. Both of these are pictured below.
Brilliant sunshine and calm winds. Temps in the mid teens F in the parking lot and mid 20's on the ridge.
6" or so of soft settled powder over a firmer base. Surface hoar at all elevations, 1cm lower in valley and 3-4mm higher on ridge.
We dug in one location around 2,400' on a Northerly aspect. Total snowpack depth 185cm (72"), pit depth 120 cm (48")
We got no results in stability tests.
We dug past the January storm snow and to the top of the snow that fell during Christmas. The top of the Christmas snow was composed of soft crusts - no weaknesses were found surrounding these crusts. Also, no buried surface hoar was found in the top 120cm of the pack.
Although the previous winds moved a bit of snow around into drifts, we could not find any wind slab issues in the areas we traveled.
