Route & General Observations

Skied North Bowl in whiteout conditions this afternoon. Winds were
light everywhere
but on the ridge where gusts were moderate. Dug a test pit at
~3800 on a 30 degree
slope to the skiers left of the summit. Snowpack was 95cm deep. I
got a ECTP15 Q1
and a CT22 Q1 on a knife hard windslab that was only 5cm deep
underneath fist
hard newly fallen snow. The slab was also 5cm thick. High energy
but low stress made
me confident enough to ski it. The windslab dissipated by ~1500
feet and in the more
wind protected areas made for fantastic skiing conditions despite
visibility that had
me skiing blind.
