Went for a drive up to Turnagain Pass this afternoon to get above the clouds in Girdwood Valley
Weather was cold, clear, and calm.
Surface crust is thick and impenetrable. The sun has not had any affect on the surface conditions.
The cold, clear weather has formed a significant surface hoar layer on top of the crust, 8-9mm.
(see photos) If this persists it could be a serious concern if/when we get some more snow.
