Route & General Observations

Heavy rain in the morning in Turnagain Pass becoming light rain by 3:30pm. Visibility improved in the afternoon and could see to about 2500′ on Seattle Ridge. No new glide activity was observed, but two recent D2 avalanches were spottedĀ on Tincan. Both below 2600′, ‘CFR’ on WSW aspect and one on the NW shoulder. See photos.

*Drove through Portage Valley at 10am, but visibility was limited. Many ‘regular’ channeled slide paths were full of debris, but wasn’t able to confirm how recent (some seemed fresh within the last 4 days.) Couldn’t see Maynard Mountain very well, but was informed of a very large wet avalanche seen on the West aspect yesterday. Could see debris, but no crowns.
