Wet loose point releases on East facing Seattle ridge.
Weather
Mostly sunny this morning with increasing clouds throughout the day. Temp was 37 deg. at 4pm at Turnagian pass. 43 degrees at sea level.
Winds were gusting on ridgetops from the east enough to see some visible plumes on Sunburst.
Snow surface
12" of saturated (very wet) snow at Turnagain pass (1,000 feet) on spongy ground.
A party of snowboarders remotely triggered this north-facing avalanche (CFR ridge- Tin Can) from the ridge on Friday April 17th. Simultaneously the West-facing bowl released. North-facing crown outlined in Black.
Same image as above. You can still faintly make out the crown after an intense 2-day storm blew through this area.
Wet-loose dribblers in channeled terrain on the East face of Seattle ridge.
12" of very wet snow at the Turnagain pass motorized lot. Unfortunately not enough for the Chugach National Forest to entertain a motorized opener at this point.
