Forecaster Comments

This avalanche has been confirmed by DOT . We believe the starting zone was in marmot gully 2 and 3 but need better visibility to confirm. Debris ran from marmot , across the upper road, and across the lower road ending in the creek. The estimated size of the avalanche is D3/D3.5. An avalanche this size has not crossed the lower road since 1980.
Please don’t go look at it. The road is closed at gateway.
