Route & General Observations

The rain crust that formed Thursday Jan 7 has turned into a very
slippery bed surface that extends up to 3000′. We we not able
to
snowmachine up Seattle Ridge because it was too slippery; so, we
skinned up Repeat Offender and up to 3000′ on Warm Up Bowl on
the
Seattle Creek side of Seattle Ridge. Even
skinning was slippery and the new 6 inches of snow on top of
this
rain crust did not like to stick. Avalanche conditions would be
deadly today 1/13/09 if there was 3 feet of snow on top of this
slippery surface. This is a very bad weak layer that has me
concerned for future stability.
