Route & General Observations

Started at Archangel Road toured up Presidents Ridge to 3500ft and skied down close to our uptrack.

Observer Comments

Small dry loose avalanche around 3500ft on the S aspect. Conducted kickturn test around 3200ft on approx 32 degree slope on E aspect and got limited cracking on the interface between the new snow from the last 3 days and the old snow.

Weather

Temp was between low single digits and 0 deg F. Clear skies that moved into overcast by 2pm. Light winds from the N. Rime on the S side of trees and vegetation up to our high point of 3500.

Snow surface

Trace amount of new snow during the day. Stellar dendrites and rimed precip particles present on the surface. Surface was smooth no evidence of wind to be found where we were. Ski pen between 20-30cm. Small settlement cones found along the way.
Coverage still shallow in some places. Beware of rocks while skiing.

Conducted ECT at 3500ft SE aspect. Results
ECTN5 @ 80cm
ECTN12@ 60cm
ECTN29 @ near ground
Poor structure, moderate strength, low propagation potential
