Route & General Observations

D1-D1.5 loose dry avalanches that looked fresh from recent snow on a variety of aspects at mid to upper elevations in steep areas on a variety of aspects. A few crowns were spotted in 20 mile, a D1 slab avalanche on Maynard was observed, and what we think was a fairly large crown at the back of the Byron drainage. Wind affected snow was seen on a variety of aspects.

Bear Valley RWIS station: HS=60 cm. Height of new snow=20 cm
Near Placer Overflow lot: HS=30 cm. Height of new snow=10-15cm
Near Placer River lot: HS-35-45 cm. Height of new snow=10-15 cm
