Route & General Observations

Skied a North facing chute off Pete’s North. Walked 30 ft from the car to reach snowline. Creek crossing and bush whacking is still manageable, but I bet not after 1 week of hot temps. Stout crust till about 1700′, where we progressively see the snow change to heavy powder. In wind and sun protected areas, its about 12″ deep.

Snow is highly variable depending on aspect and elevation. Slightly north facing ridge tops had soft wind slabs and rippling. They were not very connected, slabs weren’t stiff. Snow in the north facing chute was variable, mostly soft but heavy pow with about 4″ of ski penetration. Was worried about the top slab, but ski cuts and skiing produced nothing but slough.
