Route & General Observations

Parked @ Johnson Pass lot, Went to Pete’s North too 3,000ft. Ski quality was good, especially on none solar aspects.

Clear and sunny skies
calm winds
13 degrees F @parking lot in the morning (11am)
32 degrees F during travel mid-day (1:30pm)

Snow surface

Lower elevations: Surface Hoar in open areas, none in the trees. Soft snow below the surface hoar seemed faceted/decomposing.
Higher elevation: Sun crust on Southern solar aspects ~2cm
Non solar areas held soft snow

Snowpack

Test Pit: HS 160cm NNW aspect 25 degrees
CT13pc on Interface of soft and wind packed snow @25cm
CT23sc on Facets on top of MF crust @40cm down.
