High OVC skies in the morning, thinning as day went on, and eventually opening up to Broken skies.
Moderate temps, -2.5C at 12:30pm @2300'
NSF observed all along tour, mixed in with small SH at lower elevations. Slightest wind affect above Treeline.
Crust below 3-10cm of low density snow up to 1800'
2 handpits at 1800', W aspect: Both failed in planar fashion with moderate force ~30cm down on NSF/MF combo. Large NSF grains.
2 handpits at 2100', SSW aspect: same results as above, NSF grains seemed smaller.
Test pit @ 2300' WSW aspect, 25*. HS175cm, pit depth 100cm. Small NSF grains on Surface, NSF/MF crust combo 35cm down, MLK surface hoar layer 45cm down (~6-9mm), NSF 75cm donwn. Results only on MLK layer. Was stubborn to trigger, but exhibited high propagation potential. CT28 SC, ECTP31 (beyond test parameters, SC) CT33 SC (beyond test parameters), ECTP23 (SC).
