Route & General Observations

The notes from this pit mention how the surface facets where easy
to sluff out with skis. That is not a good sign that all those
facets are so easy to trigger even when there is not a new load
of snow on top. These types of sluffs have been
reported in: California Creek and Ragged Top in Girdwood, Pyramid
on the Motorized side of Turnagain Pass, Tincan, and Sunburst.
Some of these sluffs carried over 800 feet in distance.
Basically this confirms that these facets are widespread
throughout our entire area. Be cafeful during and after the next
big storm or wind event. We are probably in line for some
dangerous avalanche conditions in the near future.
