Faceted snow above a hard rain crust observed.
Worst structure was below 2000′ but weak snow at the crust/new snow interface was found all the way to the ridge

Snow surface

Below 2000' Faceted snow above a rain crust--facets were shallower as elevation dropped, the crust was firmer

Above 2000' new snow amount increased as one gained elevation, crust still present to the ridge top, near surface facets present above crust but not as well developed as one gained elevation
