Mostly obscured sky with brief moments of blue sky and good visibility. Calm to light winds throughout the day. Light precipitation during the day with some needles observed in the afternoon. Impressive amount of greenhouse effect in the clouds today.

Toured to check on south facing slopes and see how much new snow had accumulated.
Weather
Snow surface
About 3" of new snow fell on peak 4068. In the parking lot the new snow was low density, but quickly gained density on southerly slopes by the afternoon. South facing slopes the new snow was becoming moist and quickly turning into great snowball snow.
Snowpack
Poor structure was present on south facing slopes above 3000'. 50cm from the surface a crust sandwich can be found which proved reactive in several tests. The lower most crust provides a slick bed surface, with a layer of 1mm rounding facets sitting on top. This same setup was found on the south face of marmot earlier in the week but wasn't reactive. All tests noted below failed on this layer of rounding facets.
