Weather & Snow Characteristics
Please provide details to help us determine the weather and snowpack during the time this observation took place.
Weather

Mostly sunny with a few clouds. Very gentle breeze past tree line (<5 mph)

Snow surface

Combination of wind blown and new snow. Thin skin at upper elevations.

Snowpack

Hand pit dug at 61.08108° N, 149.66206° W. The base pack was very difficult to punch through with the grip of my pole. It took two hands to break the small slab shown in the picture, but it “popped” when I got it to released about 5”down on the new/old interface.
