Skied Pastoral NE face from summit, Pastoral SW face from summit, Grandaddy N
chute from summit, and Goldpan Peak’s N face from summit. Patchy D1 windslabs
2-5″ thick on all aspects we skied. Relatively obvious if you know what to look
for and pay attention. Largest one ran ~1000′ in the Grandaddy N chute. No
other obvious signs of instability. Very thin snowpack in all areas, some with
just a dusting of coverage. Ski conditions ranged from boilerplate ice/rain
crust with a dusting to good, consistent powder with plenty of wind buff and
mild sastrugi in places.
