Toured up and around Pastoral where we found wind hammered snow / huge soft
cornices at upper elevations and warm wet sluff at lower elevations. Also came
across a recently opened bear den surrounded by big fresh tracks in upper Lyon
creek (NE of Santa Claus ridge). Time to start thinking about bears again.
Skier triggered wind slab off high point on S. face of Sunburst ridge.
Skier triggered soft slab on S. face of Sunburst.
Wind blasted upper elevations.
Warm slow wet sluff at lower elevations.
Cornices off of Pastoral are huge and getting sun baked.
