Route & General Observations

Pastoral via Taylor Pass. Skied a NW Chute, then back up to descend a southerly chute into Bertha creek.
Many recreationists out pushing into steep terrain further from the road.

Few clouds before sunrise, leading to broken skies from sunrise til just afternoon, then scattered skies.
Winds only prevalent at higher elevations, generally from the NE to SE.
Witnessed active flagging on GD peak, loading the north couloir.
Small (soft) wind loaded features present on the south side of pastoral (we talked to a party that altered their plans due to this).

Generally about 10-20cm new snow overlying whatever the previous snow surface was (mf crust in low elevations, wind crust in exposed locations, powder in others). Rimed snow near the summit of Pastoral (as usual). In exposed locations, this snow was slightly wind effected, but overall still soft.
No formal stability test performed.
