Route & General Observations

We parked at Sunburst traveled over Taylor pass and the normal route to Pastoral. Witnessed some natural avalanches on the approach for Taylor pass. On the approach for pastoral, the snow felt consistent with even a small base layer. We noticed some transported wind blown snow and figured our primary concern would be a trigger release of a small wind slab.

Triggered by jumping at the entrance, initiating and shooting crack and then the avalanche released. Skier skied bed surface until the snow became soft on the side and not wind affected anymore.
