Observation: Girdwood

Route & General Observations

We took the normal route up the cat road to check out the snow at mid elevations.
Digging on a NW aspect @ 1522 ft we had results of a CT10, CT20, ECTX, PST 50/100 end.
We didn’t observe anything new in the area that hadn’t been reported on already this week, but there was low December lighting.

Weather

Skies were overcast, we recorded 3 degrees at 1522 ft. Calm winds.

Snow surface

Seeing angles developing in the top layer of the snow, developing surface hoar.

Snowpack

Our layer of concern for all tests were the facets 58 cm down.

@ 1522 feet height of snow (HS) 100cm
CT10, CT20 both SC (sudden collapse)
ECTX
PST 50/100 end on the facet layer 58 cm down.
