Location: North side of ridge, John Mtn
Started at the parking lot at 2:45, 45° and a little breezy, bluebird sunny day. Spring snowpack. Followed the skin up the ridge. A little snotty, especially in the trees. Started noting wind effect (some crust and cracking) around 2,700’ and decided to stop before we got to the cornice. Nice pockets of powder in the northernmost gullies. Plenty of rollerballs. Back at the parking lot at 6:15.
